It’s good for vlogging if you stay in one place or if you use a gimbal. I hate using a gimbal while vlogging and the stabilization while moving around was just not good enough for me. Another reason I got this was for taking pictures while in Saint Martin and just about every picture I took had motion blur in it. I prefer the Panasonic Z10 for a point and shoot camera. I love Canon but this camera was just not for me, so had to return.

I really, really wanted to love this camera. It’s great quality, perfect built-in lens for vlogging, and the internal mic actually sounds really good! I have two complaints about this camera that may lead me to wait for future software upgrades or version 2: the battery life and the overheating problem. I can’t film for more than 10 minutes at a time without getting an overheating symbol, even if I am inside with the AC running a fan. The camera just gets WAY too hot way too quickly. It made filming frustrating. The battery life also isn’t the best, I had to buy extra batteries just to be able to film for more than hour. I can’t imagine using this camera for streaming given how quickly and how often it overheats.
