Love this camera, I was able to get it for under 2k at Amazon through a vendor. They tend to sell for 2.3k, so overall happy. The only downside to this camera is that there is no zoom; other than that, I am very happy. I love using the filters and not having to edit photos.

As a long-time, dyed-in-the-wool Canon full-frame user, the idea of switching, even partially, to a fixed-lens, APS-C sensor camera like the Fujifilm X100VI felt… well, wrong. My skepticism was palpable. I’m deeply invested in the Canon ecosystem, with a stable of EF lenses I’ve come to rely on. The thought of a non-interchangeable lens felt restrictive, and the smaller sensor size raised questions about image quality and depth of field – areas I prioritize.
My initial search for a more compact companion camera stemmed from a desire to streamline my gear. I’ve been slowly purchasing more versatile RF L-series lenses for my main body, and needed something truly portable for travel and everyday carry – a short lens solution that wouldn’t weigh me down. The X100VI, on paper, ticked the “short/travel camera” box, but could it truly satisfy a full-frame noble snob like myself?
Let me tell you, the X100VI has not just surprised me; it’s genuinely charmed me. The fixed 23mm f/2 lens (equivalent to 35mm on full frame) is surprisingly versatile. It’s wide enough for landscapes and street photography, yet offers enough separation for pleasing portraits. My initial concerns about the lack of lens options have faded as I’ve embraced the creative constraints. This single, superb lens encourages a different way of seeing, forcing me to move my feet and find the shot rather than relying on a zoom ring. I now see light better and have become more artistic. You don’t have to move the dials, they can stay on Auto, but this camera practically calls you out to use them – and you’ll want to!
But the real magic of the X100VI lies in that elusive “Fujifilm vibe.” It’s hard to quantify, but it’s undeniably present in every image. The color science is simply stunning. Out-of-camera JPEGs possess a richness and character that often required significant post-processing with my Canon files. The film simulations are more than just filters; they evoke a sense of nostalgia and imbue photos with a distinct aesthetic. Whether it’s the classic Velvia punch, the subtle tones of Classic Chrome, or the warm rendering of Nostalgic Neg., each simulation offers a unique starting point that feels authentic and inspiring.
Beyond the image quality, there’s a tactile joy to using this camera. The retro design, the physical dials for aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, and the hybrid rangefinder style viewfinder all contribute to a more engaging and deliberate shooting experience. It slows you down in the best possible way, encouraging you to think about the fundamentals of photography.
Why do people truly love this camera? It’s not just about the specs; it’s about the feeling it evokes. It’s about the beautiful simplicity of a well-crafted tool that encourages creativity and delivers stunning results with a unique visual signature. It’s about the joy of capturing moments with a camera that feels like an extension of your eye.
The Fujifilm X100VI has unexpectedly slotted perfectly into my evolving photographic workflow. It provides that short lens perspective I was seeking in a remarkably portable package, and it does so with a distinct character that my Canon setup, while technically proficient, sometimes lacked. It hasn’t replaced my full-frame system, but it has become an indispensable companion, offering a different perspective and a unique creative outlet.

I’ve owned a few cameras from fujifilm so i’ll be speaking of this review from a hobbyist photographer’s perspective that’s owned those cameras.
At hand, the camera is still remarkably lighter than an X-Pro3 with a pancake lens such as a XF27mm f/2.8 WR. Build quality for my copy is good. Very solid feel to it, though i’ve seen issues with quality control on the net, I’ve never reached out to fujifilm, personally, so can’t speak to their service.
The things that stands out in this version of the X100 for me is the IBIS (in body image stabilization) and image sensor capable of getting solid photos up to 12800 ISO (that food photo I’m accompanying in this review had aperture set to f/5). Being able to shoot handheld in low lighting situations is lovely for a camera this small and it’s bonkers how rich the photo looks with that sensitivity.
The user interface is solid. I love the refinements done when compared from my X-Pro3. Custom functions can be set for film recipes and what not, but only the custom functions where you create them pop up, making it easier to cycle through your choices. It’s a smart refinement.
It feels like the image transfer and phone app integrations have generally improved for me, too, and I can transfer my photos on the fly from my camera to my phone to share quickly. I still run into situations where I need to force restart my app, but overall functional.
All the other things I want to glow about with this review can probably be comparable to those that looked at X100V (and other fujifilm camera) reviews so I won’t really go there. Great lens, leaf shutter, fuji’s color science, analog aesthetic, generally good build, etc.
Only marks I’d go against this is its battery life and lack of weather sealing. I imagine the battery can be lengthened with turning off the IBIS from continuous to shooting only or off (it feels like my battery lasts longer on the X-Pro3). Weather sealing can be fixed by picking up filter ring adapter and sticking a UV filter or protector glass on it (which i did).
Overall, this is a lovely camera to handle and is great for street, travel, and personal photography. It’s a very unassuming camera that takes beautiful pictures.

I was lucky enough to find an X100VI in stock on Amazon for MSRP and have been enjoying it for the past few days. This isn’t a camera for everyone as it has a fixed focal length and is pretty pricey. If you’re just looking to use the film simulations, you’re probably better off getting a cheaper model like the X-T50. If you’re looking for a grab-and-go camera for trips and don’t want to fuss with lenses, this is the one for you.
The camera feels solid in your hands and all the buttons and dials feel high quality. The implementation of IBIS (in body image stabilization) is one of the reasons I sold my X100V for this. The built-in ND filter comes in handy when shooting during the day and allows for better creativity.

I love this camera SO much! i’ve been an avid Nikon shooter for many years and wanted a great camera to take with me on trips or hikes that didn’t weigh a ton! I love this guy, he makes taking pro grade images handy and acccessible without lugging around all of my gear! Way better than a point and shoot! I love it!

Product is good, got the strap, battery, the camera. Everything. Just like as if I went to buy directly from Fujifilm. Everything it says it offers, I have received.
Although take heed. The battery is very well hidden so check very throughly. Manual you have to scan the QR code. I’m not going to take a point off from the hidden battery. Overall I still put 5/5.
