My wife set this up and there seemed to be a little complexity in getting it ready for our business. Once all the set up was complete, learning how to use it was a breeze. It’s pretty intuitive and it’s also wireless so you can carry it around.

I’ve now received three defective Square Terminals and can’t get decent customer support from Square.
The first Square Terminal that I received would not power on directly out of the box, as it is supposed to according to the instructions that came with it and according to all of the information at Square’s website. So Amazon provided a replacement.
The second Square Terminal that I received had the same problem. So instead of asking Amazon to replace it and incur another loss, I contacted Square. At first, my email was ignored, so I had to phone technical support. The person I spoke with confirmed that the Square Terminal should have powered up directly out of the box and the fact that it didn’t suggested a defective battery. So Square sent me a replacement.
The third Square Terminal that I received powered up fine. But it wouldn’t connect to my iPhone hotspot at an event where there was no internet available. Again, I contacted Square for support. I’ve been emailing back and forth with a person identified only as Robert O who has been increasingly antagonistic and who refuses to refer the matter to his manager.
When I tell Robert O what I’ve tried by way of troubleshooting, he tells me to do exactly the same thing I’ve already done. He keeps trying to blame my iPhone instead of troubleshooting the Square Terminal. My computer can use my iPhone hotspot, so there’s no problem with my iPhone. The problem is with the Square Terminal. Robert O told me to rename my iPhone, heedless of the problems that might cause with other devices that rely on my iPhone’s identity. I told him no. Robert O told me to phone my carrier for support. My carrier has nothing to do with the problem. The problem is with the Square Terminal. Again I asked Robert O to refer the matter to his manager or replace the defective unit. He now refuses to answer my emails.
Perhaps my posting this review will get the higher-ups at Square to provide a solution or a properly operating replacement unit.
