When first using this product it appeared that the red light camera warning was not working. Tech support was no help at all. I have since discovered that it works just fine. Thus, I am deducting one star due to inadequate tech support.

At first glance, it’s lot smaller in real life than in pictures. The screen is crisp and bright. You have to turn up the volume to 7 or higher otherwise it’s too quiet. The power cord is finally on the right side or the correct size. WiFi updates are quick and easy. There’s so many settings to keep most enthusiasts happy. This is by far the longest range radar detector. You’ll also learn the name of the laser gun when you get your first ticket.
Initial setup is a little wonky. The latest version of Mac OS doesn’t work for firmware update. Even if you’re successful installing it and you will need an update to get all your photo radars as well as additional K block frequencies.
In order to enable WiFi you will need to pair Bluetooth. You can’t search for Bluetooth using your phone. You need to download R/TACH from the App Store. Once you pair Bluetooth using the App and set up your WiFi, it’s a breeze. Downloading firmware and database is super quick, painless and fast.

The range on this detector is outstanding. The wifi connectivity is an added benefit when considering updates for the device. BSM lockout could be better but I definitely don’t regret the purchase. The R/Tach app makes setup a breeze but is in early stages. Would suggest pairing with Highway Radar app.

The absolute best Detector money can buy.This is the same platform the new Uniden R8 is running. You get alerts miles from the target. Highly recommend this Detector.

Works as it should. Picks up the signal from fairly far away. Also does a great job picking up signals from around the corner. Easy to set up and hardwire to your fuse box.

Hands down the best radar detector, without arrows, on the market.
Ownership has been great and hassle free. I live in California so I disabled X and K band to greatly reduce false alerts. It has picked up Laser and Ka Band reliability.
Also updating the SW with the app is very easy!

Great radar detector! Its reliable, durable, can hear it over loud music. I also have my dash cam plugged into the usb port of its power cord, and both devices work perfectly sharing the power source.
Only time this radar detector doesn’t work is when going thru this one area while on the highway, a certain police unit turns their radars off and clocks people!! 😂😒
There have been SEVERAL times the Ka band was going off and I’m looking like “where is this cop” for what seems like a while, and eventually I see them. Definitely long enough range for a suitable warning!!
And it sure does pick up everything: speed cameras, those speed radar signs, traffic light cameras, etc. It’s really easy to hit “mute” for these things, and it automatically does a “mute memory” so u don’t have to listen to it every time passing the same spot. It is also easy to remove mute memory by hitting “mute” again the next time you.
I was actually intimidated by the manual and all the settings at first. However, I’ve left it on the default “highway” and it’s all good. All I ever needed to touch is volume buttons and mute/dim button, which were easy enough to learn just by simply pressing them. And also going into menu to set up wifi/bt if u install the app, which wasn’t that bad, just a lot of scrolling to the actual setting.

I work on the road quite a bit. Currently working about 10-1/2 hours from home. I was going home for a few days and decided to buy this for the trip. Did A LOT of research and this was my best fit. I absolutely love it. All I’ll say is it’s so much cheaper than the alternative. 😬
